Meet Lucie
Founder of Mum Hours UK
Lucie is a mother, technology professional and builder of practical solutions for women. Her work sits at the intersection of motherhood, careers, income and technology.
After losing her husband, her need to rebuild work and income around family life became deeply personal. She wanted to remain present for her children through an incredibly difficult season, while continuing to use her skills, create stability and build a meaningful future.
That experience shapes how Lucie builds Mum Hours UK today. She understands that flexibility is not about having less ambition. It is about having access to work, tools and opportunities that recognise the realities of motherhood and make it possible for women to keep moving forward.
The story behind MHUK
It started with a deeply personal need
How do you keep building a future when your children need more of your presence?
Lucie started Mum Hours UK four months after losing her husband. She was navigating grief, supporting her children and facing the practical reality of rebuilding family life and income. In that season, the need for meaningful flexibility was no longer theoretical. It was essential.
Her experience exposed a gap that too many mothers know well. Jobs may call themselves flexible, yet still fail to work around school hours, caring responsibilities, career breaks or difficult seasons of family life.
Mum Hours UK began by researching and curating roles that offered clearer, more useful flexibility. It has since grown into an all in one platform where mothers can find work, rebuild confidence, strengthen their careers and explore new ways to earn, without being asked to choose between progress and presence.
What we're working on
The Mum Quarter
The Mum Quarter is our growing coworking and community initiative for mothers. It is being developed as a place for focused work, useful conversations, practical support and genuine connection.
We are starting thoughtfully, learning from mothers and building experiences that reflect what they actually need in work, business and everyday life.
