About Us

The NHS (National Health Service) UK is the publicly funded healthcare system for the United Kingdom, established in 1948 to provide comprehensive medical care to all legal residents, free at the point of use, funded mainly through general taxation. It's actually four separate systems (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) but known collectively as the NHS, offering services from GP visits and hospital care to mental health, covering a vast range of clinical and non-clinical roles, and striving for universal access based on need, not ability to pay.
