At OQC, our mission is simple: to build the quantum-accelerated world.

To do this, we build Application Optimised Compute; quantum computers specifically engineered for the commercial advantage era where first quantum applications deliver business value to customers. 

Founded in 2017 by our CSO Dr. Peter Leek, OQC is a global leader in quantum technology. Based on superconducting circuits, our technology will bring fault tolerant quantum computing within reach due to our world leading patented architecture: the Coaxmon, and our proprietary dual-rail Dimon® qubit technology. 

As Europe’s first Quantum-Compute-as-a-Service provider and the first in the world to deploy quantum computers into a commercial environment, OQC has now delivered three generations of quantum systems: Sophia, Lucy and Toshiko.

OQC is now pioneering the ‘logical era’ of quantum computing, characterised by the efficient generation of logical, error-corrected qubits from physical qubits, forming the foundation for scalable performance. The creation of our logical qubits is achieved through the use of our industry-leading dual-rail encoded qubit design, the Dimon®, which fits within our proprietary, existing Coaxmon® architecture.

OQC is delivering quantum capabilities direct to the major regional economic centres of the world with our current generation devices already deployed in London and Tokyo, our next generation system,OQC GENESIS, and will become the first quantum computer ever installed in New York City.
